INTERNSHIPS

Navigating life through college can be pretty fun to say the least, until you have to get an internship that is.

The stress of finding somewhere to spend 40 hours per week can take its toll.

Let us help!

We have numerous opportunities for individuals looking to gain real life experience, educate their own community AND make a huge difference in the lives around them. While internships with us are unpaid, the experience you'll receive here is unmatched.

We have accepted interns previously from the following programs:

  • Nutrition/Dietetics         • Public Health

  • Social Work                  • Geography and Planning

  • Psychology                   • Sustainable Development

  • Marketing                      • Nonprofit Management

Internship FAQ's

  • When will I be doing my internship hours?

Internship experiences will typically take place during business hours, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. There may be some opportunities to complete hours outside of our office hours, such as events, meetings, or outreach you might attend on our behalf.

  • Is this internship a paid opportunity?

Unfortunately, internships with HHC are unpaid. We hope this will change in the future. For now, they are unpaid.

  • What qualities does HHC look for in interns?

We look for interns who have personal drive, a heart for people and our mission, bring fresh ideas, can effectively communicate, have great time management skills, and have a genuine interest in nonprofits.

  • What areas can I get experience in during an internship with HHC?

Some of the program areas that students could be interning with include mobile delivery, nutrition, grants, pharmacy, outreach, A Simple Gesture, our social media presence, gardening, general operations (including our kitchen, pantry, and market), and nonprofit management.
